The Siberian or Amur Tiger
Panther tigress altaica
These are the largest of all the world's big cats and the heaviest at around 250Kg and 3 metres in length.
They are solitary creatures inhabiting the birch forests of Russia, China and Korea and are very much in danger of extinction as there are thought to be only around 540 left in the wild.
